“Barriers to Breakthroughs: Women in Nepal’s Information and Communication Technology Landscape,” explores the underrepresentation of women in Nepal’s ICT sector, highlighting challenges and opportunities for their inclusion. Conducted by WIIT in collaboration with The Asia Foundation, the study used a mixed-method approach, including surveys, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews with women leaders. Key findings reveal barriers such as limited access to education, workplace challenges, and the struggle to balance work and life, while also showcasing success stories and leadership roles. Recommendations focus on policy changes, organizational support, and strategies to encourage more women to enter and thrive in ICT. The findings were disseminated on International Women’s Day 2025, aiming to foster a more inclusive and diverse ICT landscape in Nepal.
